This David Cronenberg feature deals with New Age gaming and the ultimate goal of Virtual Reality, that of engaging all the senses to create a alternative realm. Containing less gore than the standard Cronenberg fare, eXistenZ is a journey into the dangers of new technology. Most of this Canadian maverick Filmmaker's features deal with runaway Technology i.e. Videodrome, Shivers and Rabid. Although not as path breaking as 'The Fly', eXistenz reeks of Cronenberg.
It's one of only a couple of Cronenberg films i havent seen yet.
I have seen: A History Of Violence, Crash, Rabid, The Brood, Dead Ringers, Naked Lunch, The Fly, Shivers, The Dead Zone, Scanners; Videodrome.
My favourite of all of them is probably The Brood.
