Martin Sheen is superb and had a heart attack while shooting, Marlon Brando's Colonel Walter Kurtz, is one of the most unforgettable short roles of all time. Robert Duvall is brilliant and ended up with an Oscar nomination for his role. The Chopper ride attack scene set to Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" is one of the most surreal moments in film history.
